HERRIMAN, Utah (October 17, 2021)- TMCC's women saw their three-match unbeaten streak come to an end on Sunday following their 2-0 defeat to Salt Lake Community College. A first half brace for SLCC's Kallyn Chenoweth would put TMCC at an early disadvantage in their final road contest of the season. 

TMCC came out fighting despite early pressure from the hosts. After the Bruins opened the scoring in the 18th minute, TMCC answered with a chance of their own. Following a great counter from Yanitzia Perez-Galvan, the Lizards found freshman Katelyn Norris in space on the right flank, who shook off a defender before having her shot blocked from the top of the 18.

The Bruins responded from TMCC's pressure quickly, however. Salt Lake would find net again just moments later on Kallyn Chenoweth's second score of the day.
While the 2-0 result would hold throughout the second half, TMCC played well, keeping Salt Lake to just four shots taken while posting three of their own. The Lizards put together a great chance to score just after the break, but Isabel Gonzalez's attempt to catch Salt Lake keeper Katrina Gardner off guard went high and wide. 

While Salt lake pressured TMCC throughout the second period, the Lizards back line held strong to keep the match within reach. A save from MaKensie Turner in the 69th minute would keep the score at 2-0, and good defense would limit chances for the Bruins as time winded down. 

Following their final road match of the season, TMCC will return home to close out the 2021 season with two contests in Reno. The Lizards will welcome Feather River College on Thursday, and close out Scenic West Play on Saturday against Colorado Northwestern. Both matches will be streamed live on the Lizards Sports Network.
