Box Score PRICE, Utah– TMCC's men would fall to the Utah State Eastern Eagles 4-0 on Thursday, their first of twelve matches in conference play this season.
TMCC nearly pulled ahead in the 8
th minute, when freshman midfielder
Cuauhtemoc Borjon recovered possession for the Lizards on the defensive end before carrying through space in the middle. Borjon served an excellent chip forward to
Adolfo Sanchez, but the forward's attempt wasn't strong enough to get through.
Another chance ten minutes later for TMCC would be called back for offside. Shortly afterward, the Eagles would find a chance of their own, but the 21
st minute shot would go just wide of the post to keep the score tied at zero.
USUE would take a 1-0 lead in the 29
th minute, finding the net after an excellent through pass gave enough space for the Eagles to punch one past Lizards keeper
Sean Lucas.
Joesph Valle would double USUE's advantage in the second half. Just moments after a great defensive play from Erick Ceja Gonzalez kept the Eagles out of the net, Valle punched a score in after a corner bounced around in the box. The Eagles would net two more before the final whistle sounded, both assisted by sophomore winger Parker Huff, in the 73
rd and 84
th minutes.
TMCC's road trip to open conference play will continue on Saturday, September 4, when they take on Snow College from Ephraim, UT. Kickoff is scheduled for 10:00AM PT, and the match will be streamed live on the Scenic West Network.
