Reno, NV - The Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) Lady Lizards hosted the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) Coyotes in the 2025 Scenic West Athletic Conference opener, ultimately falling 4-1 after the rivalry match Friday, Aug. 22.
CSN came out with high pressure on the Lady Lizards' defense. Netting four goals in the first half, CSN set the tone for a high-energy rivalry game. The Lady Lizards answered with Gabriela Ruvalcaba, finding a gap in Coyote defense with an unassisted goal.
TMCC took the second half with aggression and resilience to hold the scoreboard silent. The match continued on a tense back and forth with both teams looking for the window to score, where Southern Nevada struck relentlessly. The Lady Lizards found themselves out of time, unable to close the gap leading to a hard-fought victory for CSN.
The Mighty Lizards will head north next week for their first conference road trip. They will face off at Casper College in Jerome, ID on Saturday, Aug. 30, followed by a match against Laramie County Community College on Sunday, Aug. 31. Both matches will be streamed on the Scenic West Network.
