Box Score, Reno NV - Truckee Meadows Women's Soccer (TMCC) lost to North Idaho College (NIC) on Thursday, Sept. 11, with a final score of 1-2.Â
Â
On home turf, the Mighty Lizards were ready for a tough battle. Quickly, the Cardinals took control of the game, finding the back of the net in the twenty-second minute of the game. Karen Salgado held strong for the TMCC defense, with over five goalkeeper saves keeping the Cardinals scoreless for the remainder of the first half. Monse Iza came in strong for the Mighty Lizards as the second half kicked off, capitalizing on a beautifully delivered ball from Alondra Carrillo, bringing the score to an even 1-1.Â
Â
The tie was short-lived, however, as NIC responded within a minute to reclaim the lead. However, TMCC defense played one of their cleanest games of the season, only capturing a total of three team goals throughout the combined halves. With the Lizards visible defense growth on the back line, they are on track to refine and intensify their game as we move deeper into season. Â

The Mighty Lizards will look for the win this weekend, when they face off against Pacific Northwest Christian College on Saturday, Sept. 13. The match will be streamed on the Scenic West Network.Â
