Chavez joined TMCC for the inaugural season in 2019. An alum of North Valleys High School (Reno, NV), he won two regional championships with his high school teams alongside current Lizards teammate Luis Chavez. He played club soccer with Spanish Springs Soccer Club.

Chavez loves working on cars in his spare time. He hopes to eventually complete a degree in engineering and become a civil engineer.
