Gutierrez-Sanchez joins the Lizards from Edward C. Reed High School in Reno, NV. With Reed, he was a team captain for two seasons, and was also named an All-League First Team defensive player his senior season in 2020. He played club soccer with Nevada United.

In his free time, Luis enjoys spending time with his family and exploring new music. He hopes to continue his soccer career at a four-year institution and become a chiropractor.
