2023 - Played a total of 17 games for the Mighty Lizards… Was a starter for 13 games… Picked up two goals against Lassen Community College (8/26)… Recorded a goal at Casper College (8/17) and against Colorado Northwestern (9/7)… Took a total of 6 shots over the course of the season.

2022 - Played a total of 12 games for the Mighty Lizards… Was a starter for each game played… Recorded a total of 3 shots over the course of the season while excelling on the back line.

Cortes joined the Mighty Lizards from North Valley's High School in Reno, where he excelled as a midfielder as well as on the back line. The 2020 Team Captain made the All-League Team for two seasons, as well as led the 3A Division in assists his sophomore year. On the club level, Cortes played for Sierra Surf Soccer Club.
