Tara Connolly, M.A. is TMCC’s Athletics Academic Advisor and a member of the Athletics Compliance team.
Between her advising career and time spent teaching English, Education, and Educational Psychology, Tara has served all reaches of TMCC’s student population. She has been a full-time academic advisor at the College since 2012, after two years as an academic advisor and instructor at the University of Nevada, Reno. She has been the advisor for all student-athletes at TMCC since the Mighty Lizards inaugural season in 2019.
A TMCC graduate, Tara first served as a peer advisor with the College’s Academic Advising office while working toward her Associate’s degree. Helping students like her as she navigated her own journey through college, the experience was so positive she shifted her academic goals to prepare for a career in advising. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in General Studies with an emphasis in Theatre and Biology (2008), and a Master’s in Educational Leadership (2010) from the University of Nevada, Reno, and later becoming a certified MBTI and Strong Interest Inventory practitioner.
