Box Score Reno, NV - An evenly fought battle on both sides led to a 2-2 tie for the Mighty Lizards against the College of Southern Nevada.
The match started off on an even note with neither side able to convert on opportunities. CSN's Diego Carrasco was able to sneak in two quick goals in the 41st and 43rd minutes to give the Coyotes a 2-0 lead going into halftime.
Right out of the gate in the second half, it was
Diego Lopez who cut the deficit in half for the Mighty Lizards on a corner kick by
Alex Barbosa. TMCC would get an opportunity for a penalty kick at the 64th minute mark, but the kick by
Allen Somera was unable to sneak past CSN goalkeeper Damian Moreno. The Mighty Lizards would get one final penalty kick opportunity in the 89th minute, and it would be
Connor Friesen who kicked the last minute PK to tie the game at 2 apiece and send the game to overtime.
Ultimately, neither team was able to convert on any opportunities within 20 minutes of extra time. The Mighty Lizards were able to force multiple corner kicks but weren't able to place the ball in the back of the net.
TMCC will hit the road next week for Utah where they'll face #18 Utah State University Eastern on Thursday, Oct. 6 and #16 Snow College on Saturday, Oct. 8. Both games will be streamed live on the Scenic West Network.
