Mighty Lizard Men Finish in 2-2 Draw Against #17 Snow College

Box Score Reno, NV - Truckee Meadows Community College Men's Soccer came away from a 90 minute battle with another point in the SWAC standings, picking up a tie against the current #17 ranked team in the NJCAA. 

The first goal of the match came in just the 9th minute, when a Snow College foul in the penalty area led to second year student-athlete Federico Bernabe burying a PK. Snow College was quick to respond with Badger Jack Cook finding the back of the net in the 35th minute on an unassisted boot just outside the penalty area.

Truckee Meadows found the back of the net in the second half off a Fernando Robles free kick, which bounced off the shoulder of a Snow College defender before beating Badger goalkeeper Mathias Christensen for a credited own goal. Quick to bounce back, Snow turned to Jack Cook yet again to find the back of the net in the 58th minute.

TMCC and Snow College continued to battle back and forth during the final 30 minutes of action, ultimately resulting in no further goals and the match going down as a draw. Mighty Lizard goalkeeper Jacob Rivera Gomez came away from the match with eight saves on ten total shots on goal.

The Mighty Lizards will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 26th where they'll host Utah State University Eastern in the final game of the season. Saturday's match will also double as TMCC Soccer's Sophomore Day. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m., and the match will be streamed live on the Lizards Sports Network.
