Box Score Rangely, CO - TMCC finished off regular season play with Saturday's 3-0 victory over Colorado Northwestern Community College.
TMCC was quick to strike on offense, with
Bailey Rozier scoring the first goal of the game in the 28th minute coming off an assist from
Alanna Barrera. Less than a minute later, it was
Katelyn Norris scoring to put the Mighty Lizards up by two goals.
The first half closed out on a goal by
Mia Sappenfield to give the Mighty Lizards a 3-0 lead heading into halftime. The Mighty Lizards held offensive pressure from
Allyson Mora,
Kim Bernal and Norris, but couldn't put anything else past Spartans goalkeeper Emma Swain.
TMCC stayed strong on defense the remainder of the game, ultimately holding CNCC to a single shot on goal. Goalkeeper
Stella Poste was credited with the shutout victory.
The Mighty Lizards will now wait for playoff seeds to emerge before heading to Salt Lake City, UT for the regional tournament.
