Mighty Lizard Women Fall 1-0 In Road Opener

Box Score Casper, WY - 90 minutes of action wasn't enough to recover from an early goal by Casper College, as the Mighty Lizards ultimately fell to the Thunderbirds in their season opener by a score of 1-0.

TMCC found numerous opportunities with shots on goal coming from sophomores Rylee Husted and Alexandra Rutherford, as well as freshman Litzy Saucedo and Felicity Codman, however none were able to slip past Thunderbird Goalkeeper Emmy Finlinson. Despite a Thunderbird goal in the 9th minute, Mighty Lizard goalkeeper Heidi Anavisca bounced back defensively, picking up a total of six saves in net.

TMCC will have a quick turnaround as they next play Gillette College at Casper College on Friday, Aug. 18. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. Mountain Time with the match to be streamed live on Scenic West Network.
