Truckee Meadows Women’s Soccer Defeats Pacific Northwest Christian 4-0

Box Score Reno, NV - Truckee Meadows Community College Women's Soccer picked up their second win of the season against Pacific Northwest Christian College, this time taking down the Gladiators on home soil by a score of 4-0.

The Mighty Lizards set the tone early in the match, when a 4th minute shot off the boot of Gabriela Ruvalcaba beat PNWCC goalkeeper Julia Worlund to give TMCC a 1-0 lead. Truckee Meadows continued to put pressure on PNWCC's defense while holding a strong back line of their own, but were unable to add more goals to their lead prior to halftime.

In the second half, strong defensive efforts from the Mighty Lizard back line continued to shut down all offensive hope for PNWCC. On the other side of the pitch, the final 45 minutes was highlighted by three first-year Mighty Lizard student-athletes notching their first career goals in a TMCC uniform. Kicking off the scoring was Issela Luna in the 51st minute, followed by a 71st minute boot from Ashley Miranda, and finally a 77th minute goal from Kayley Mora to ultimately give the Mighty Lizards the four goal victory.

Goalkeeper Dakota Gomez recorded the shutout victory for Truckee Meadows, picking up a save in the process. Offensively, TMCC took 20 total shots in 90 minutes while forcing eight corner kick opportunities.

Up next, the Mighty Lizards will host North Idaho College for the first time in school history on Saturday, Oct. 12. Kickoff is set for 11:00 a.m. with the match to be streamed live on the Lizards Sports Network.
