Mighty Lizard Women Close Out Weekend with 2-2 Draw at College of the Siskiyous

Box Score Weed, CA - Truckee Meadows Women's Soccer concluded the non-NJCAA portion of their schedule with a match at College of the Siskiyous, finishing in a 2-2 tie against the Eagles.

Truckee Meadows kicked the match off with two quick goals coming in the first 15 minutes. In the 6th minute, it was Brooke Sherwood finding the back of the net on an assist by defender Abbey Costolo. In the 14th minute, Felicity Codman found the back of the net for her first goal of the year on an assist from first year student-athlete Kendra Reid. Truckee Meadows continued to put the pressure on offensively, going into halftime with a two goal advantage.

In the second half, the tide slowly began to turn in favor of Siskiyous, ultimately resulting in a two goal half for the Eagles. In the 60th minute, Maiyah McDonald found the back of the net on a counter attack, cutting the Mighty Lizard lead to one. In the 78th minute, it was Brooklynn Wade beating TMCC goalkeeper Zury Rangel to tie the match at two goals apiece. The match would ultimately end in a tie, bringing the Mighty Lizards record on the young season to 1-0-1.

Truckee Meadows Women's Soccer will head to Salt Lake City next weekend for matches against Northwest College on Saturday, Aug. 31 and Casper College on Monday, Sep. 2. Both matches will be played at Salt Lake Community College. Saturday's match will kick off at 2:00 p.m. PST, followed by Monday's match at 10:00 a.m. PST.
