TMCC Soccer Announces First Wave of Incoming Student-Athletes for 2025-26

Reno, NV - Truckee Meadows Community College Athletics is thrilled to announce the first wave of new Men's & Women's Soccer signees set to make their debut in Fall 2025. Meet the seven newest Nevada-grown student-athletes looking to continue making a positive impact both on the pitch and in the classroom.

Incoming first-year student-athletes for Women's Soccer include:

Chloe McMinn - Forward
McMinn joins the Mighty Lizards with one year of varsity experience at Reed High School in nearby Sparks, while having also competed with Reno Apex Soccer Club.
McMinn was the Offensive Player of the Year for the Reed Raiders last season and co-led the varsity squad in goals scored with nine total. Once she arrives on campus, McMinn aspires to earn an Associate's degree in Psychology. Her hobbies outside of soccer include hanging out with friends, being a nail tech, snowboarding and traveling.
"Ultimately, I decided to play at TMCC because I wanted to experience college soccer and see if it was something I wanted to pursue in the future. It's also close to home and I can still see my family and friends."

Isis Melendez - Defender
Melendez will head north from Las Vegas to Reno next fall after her recent graduation from West Career and Technical Academy. On the pitch, she joins the Mighty Lizards with two years of varsity experience from Eldorado High School, in addition to her time at the club level with Las Vegas Sports Academy.
Melendez joins TMCC with excellent defensive promise, and was named the Class 4A Desert League Defensive Player of the Year in 2023. Upon arriving in Reno, she plans on earning her Associates of Science in Radiologic Technology. Melendez's hobbies outside of soccer include running track and hanging out with her friends.
"TMCC offers an accredited program for Radiology, and the team was very welcoming."

Nevaeh Scorza - Midfielder/Defender
Scorza joins the Mighty Lizards as a transfer from College of Southern Nevada, where she spent her freshman year playing for the Coyotes. Originally from Las Vegas, she competed at the club level for Henderson-LVSA 06 and amassed three years of varsity experience at Silverado High School.
Scorza is proud of how far she's come in the sport of soccer despite personal challenges that would've tested the mental strength of her peers. She intends to major in the Pre-Nursing track beginning this fall with aspirations of one day attending nursing school. While in high school, Scorza found herself working various leadership and student government roles, eventually becoming Silverado's student body president.
"I was pretty set on TMCC after the first few conversations with the coaches and with research, but after visiting and playing with the team I knew I wanted to be a part of something so welcoming and judgement-free."

Alondra Carrillo - Midfielder
Carrillo will join the Mighty Lizards this fall with four years of varsity experience from Carson High School in nearby Carson City. At the club level, Carrillo has amassed minutes with both Carson FC and Sierra Surf Soccer Club.
A promising midfielder, Carrillo was named to the Nevada 5A First Team All Region and ranked fourth in goals scored in the Sierra League this past fall. She will look to earn her Associate's degree in Art. Carrillo's main hobby outside of soccer is sports photography.
"I felt really close with (TMCC). Something about it made me feel like home when I was practicing with the team. I love the people here, and it's very close to home, which means I can see my family whenever."

Incoming first-year student-athletes for Men's Soccer include:

Tony Melendrez - Defender
Melendrez was born and raised in Reno and will join the Mighty Lizards this fall having recently graduated from Damonte Ranch High School with three years of varsity experience. At the club level, he played for the Sierra Nevada Strikers.
Melendrez was a part of the Damonte Ranch team that won the 5A Sierra League title for the first time in school history in 2023, which he claims to be his favorite soccer memory to date. Furthermore, he was named to the Sierra League First Team that same year. Melendrez's current academic plans include earning his Associate's of Science in Radiologic Technology. When he isn't playing soccer, he stays active by going to the gym and playing basketball.
"I chose TMCC because it's close to home and because of their strong soccer program."

Carlos Ramirez - Defender
Ramirez will join the Mighty Lizards for the Fall 2025 season with four years of varsity experience at North Valleys High School. Additionally, the Reno native played club soccer for Sun Valley United.
Ramirez received a High Desert League honorable mention for his defensive efforts for the North Valleys Panthers in 2023. His academic goals include earning a Criminal Justice degree before attending law school in the future. Ramirez's main hobby outside of soccer is riding his horses.
"I decided on TMCC because it's local."

Sawyer Morris - Goalkeeper
Morris is a 2025 graduate of Reno High School where he spent three years as a varsity level goalkeeper. He additionally amassed minutes at the club level with Reno Apex 07 Premier.
Morris' favorite soccer memories include his performances at numerous tournaments, a Juventus Cup win, and some good placings against national competition. Morris also received a High Desert League honorable mention for his goalkeeping this past fall with the Reno Huskies. Outside of soccer, he enjoys golfing and plans on getting back into playing the trumpet.
"I decided on TMCC because I love Reno and wanted to stay, I also like the coach and the team a lot."
