TMCC Soccer –2025 Season Review

TMCC Men's and Women's Soccer capped off the 2025 season on Oct. 25, finishing regular-season play on the road at Snow College. With the seventh season of competition complete, this end-of-season review highlights the moments that defined the year.

Notable Statistics–Women's Soccer
Truckee Meadows Women's Soccer finished the season with a conference record of 2-11-1. The 2025 season showcased strong performances both offensively and defensively, despite not advancing to regional tournament play.

On the offensive end, Monserrat Iza joined TMCC's Top 5 players with four goals this year, putting her in a tie with Yanitzia Perez-Galvan in 2021. After competing as a goalkeeper last season, Iza transitioned into an offensive role and was recognized with a 2025 All-Region XVIII Award. Alondra Carrillo also broke into the ranks with three Assist/Season.

Defensively, goalkeepers Karen Salgado and Dakota Gomez shone brightly. Salgado earned second place in both Saves/Season and Minutes in Net/Season with 77 saves and 855:00, respectively. Gomez beat her score last season, growing from 15 to 26 saves.

Notable Statistics–Men's Soccer
Truckee Meadows Men's Soccer closed out the season with a conference record of 4-9-0. Although the team did not qualify for this year's regional tournament, several student-athletes earned spots in TMCC's Top Five across multiple categories.

Two midfielders both earned their places in TMCC's Top Five. Roberto Castillo made four Goals/Season, and Valentin Linan had five Assists/Season. Both created openings for their teams to score and earned 11 Points/Season, landing them in a tie for third place. Castillo and Linan were recognized for their drive on the pitch with 2025 All-Region XVIII Awards.

On the opposite end of the pitch, goalkeeper Sawyer Morris was a standout, with 34 saves, and kept guard for 854:27 minutes in the net. He places fifth in Saves/Season and fourth in Minutes In Net/Season.

Truckee Meadows Soccer will return to the pitch this spring, competing in scrimmage-style matches against local area schools and clubs. Game details will be shared in the months ahead. Head Coaches Debs Brereton and Kyle Kelly remain focused on recruiting the next generation of Lizards as they prepare for an even stronger season ahead.
