Box Score South Lake Tahoe, CA - In what served as the first away game of the season for Truckee Meadows Community College, the Mighty Lizards Men fell to Lake Tahoe Community College by a score of 2-0.
The game was tightly contested in the first half, with
Jose Valdivia and
Connor Friesen both coming up with missed opportunities early for the Mighty Lizards. Unfortunately, the go-ahead goal for Lake Tahoe came in the 33rd minute off a corner kick that slipped past goalie
Brandon Espino.
Despite giving up a goal, Espino continued to remain a force in net, notching 5 saves throughout 90 minutes of play. Tensions were high as the game went on, as both teams received two yellow cards on various fouls called.
The Mighty Lizards struggled to get the ball rolling on offense in the second half, producing multiple corner kick opportunities but unable to convert. The final goal of the game for LTCC came accidentally off Mighty Lizards defender

The Mighty Lizards will be back in action Thursday, Sep. 1 to play Utah State University Eastern at home for their conference opener. This match will be a highly contested one, and the Mighty Lizards hope to come away with a notch in the win column.
