Jerome, ID - Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) Men's Soccer fell to the Casper College Thunderbirds on the afternoon of Saturday, Aug. 30 by a defeating score of 0-6.
The Thunderbirds received an early yellow card in the ninth minute, fueling their offensive intensity. They quickly grabbed an early 2-0 lead by two separate scorers, putting home turf heat on the Mighty Lizard offense. The Casper College Men held their two goal lead going into halftime, and by the thirty-fifth minute captured another long shot assisted goal. Under fire, Mighty Lizard goalkeeper Sawyer Morris was unable to keep up with the rapid shots from the Thunderbirds, who found two more goals within minutes, bringing the late halftime score to 0-5.
The Mighty Lizards remained resilient, holding the Thunderbirds at a scoreless thirty minutes, maintaining control on the field. Under heavy pressure, TMCC earned a yellow card in the sixty ninth minute, showing perseverance through the second half. Casper College found the back of the net one last time in the seventy-eighth minute with a corner kick header. TMCC answered with continued grit, and kept the Thunderbirds off the scoreboard for the remainder of the match.
The Mighty Lizards will kick off the second half of their conference play with a match against Laramie County Community College (LCCC) on Sunday, Aug. 31. Kickoff will commence at 11:00 a.m., and the match will be streamed live on the
