The Mighty Lizards battled through tough conditions on their home turf, setting an intense field vibe from the start. TMCC looked to test NIC defense early, where they responded with pressure that forced the Lizards to rely on clean team ballwork. The Cardinals scored quickly off an assist in minute fourteen, where the defensive line could not follow the play. The 0-1 score remained steady as the teams went into halftime.

With their heads held high, the Mighty Lizards returned to the field. Unfortunately, the Cardinals brought their adrenaline, leading to another NIC goal in minute forty-seven. TMCC offense wasted no time finding the game in their celebrations, and quickly silenced them with a goal of their own in minute forty-nine from Edwin Ugalde, with the assist from Roberto Castillo. The Mighty Lizards found their offensive rhythm, sending over six on goal shots with four corner kicks in looks to exhaust Cardinal defense. However, NCI used their substitutes to their advantage, netting two more goals in the final fifteen minutes of the game. Despite the loss, TMCC showed true grit and passion, giving the Cardinals a run for their money up until the very last minute of the game.Â
