Box Score Salt Lake City, UT - Truckee Meadows Men's Soccer (TMCC) suffered a loss to the Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) Bruins on Sat. Sept. 20 with a final score of 0-6.
Despite the score, TMCC worked together and showed clear teamwork through the entirety of the match. The offense applied immense pressure to the Bruins, not letting them score without a fight. There was no doubt that the Mighty Lizards were truly playing together, as the men accounted for almost no team fouls. The Bruins remained in control for the majority of the match, ultimately testing the hardest on TMCC defense.
The ability for the Lizards to play with a disciplined performance was the standout takeaway from the game. TMCC played one of their cleanest games of the season, unlike the Bruins who obtained ten team fouls. Despite the scoreboard, the Lizards maintained composure and played competitively to avoid unnecessary fouls. Even though the game concluded in a loss, the Lizards returned home with intensified qualities of teamwork and sportsmanship—key qualities that will bring them back to the winning side as they continue their season.
The Mighty Lizards will return to their home field next week, where they face Utah State University Eastern on Thursday, Sept. 25. The match will be streamed on the Scenic West Network.
