The Lizards upended the hosting Spartans of Colorado Northwestern Community College by a score of 12-1. The Lizards victory was much needed, as they were able to end a two-match losing streak and add another "W" to victory column for conference play.
The Truckee Meadows offensive attack started in the first 15 minutes of the match. Yallison Espinosa had her first goal of the match in the 7th minute,
Isabel Gonzalez followed her up a few moments later.
Juanita Lopez Karlstrom scored her first goal of the season well.
Lizeth Garcia Juarez,
Lesly Lopez LugoYalison Espinosa and
Lacee Gardner each tacked on goals to make the score 7-1 at half.
Ximena Mora scored the first goal of the second half.
Lacee Gardner added her second goal of the match halfway through the second half.
Piper Wiecking tacked on a goal and
Yanitzia Perez Galvan scored two goals in the last ten minutes of the match. Assists came from,
Lesly Lopez Lugo, Lizbeth Gonzalez,
Yanitzia Perez Galvan,
Ximena Mora, Lesley Ramos and Daisy De La Torre.
The Lizards put up 30 shots during the pitch, as well as 10 corner attempts. The Spartans scored on their lone shot attempt.
The Lizards are now 6-5 overall and 2-5 in conference play. The Lizards are back in action for their final home matches next week as they host Snow College on Thursday afternoon and play College of Southern Nevada on Saturday.
