TMCC Soccer received their first official commitment of 2023 with the signing of Adryanna Avena on February 1st. A native of Pahrump, NV, Avena is a huge pick-up for the Mighty Lizards as they enter their fifth season of play.
 
The Pahrump Valley High School product led Nevada Class 3A in goals her senior season with 54, while averaging 2.2 goals per game during her final season. The four year varsity starter and team captain is a two-time Nevada Class 3A league and regional champion, while having also earned a state title her junior year. Avena earned herself two "Player of the Week" honors voted by United Soccer Coaches during her junior campaign and four "Player of the Game" honors during her senior season. On the club level, Avena plays for Players Club with the Players Elite '05 girls team. Known for having a high soccer IQ, Avena will look to make an immediate impact for the Mighty Lizard women as they come off a historic previous season which featured the team's first NJCAA playoff birth.
 
As for why she chose to become a Mighty Lizard, Avena stated, "I chose TMCC because not only did I love everything I found out about their soccer program for women and talking to Coach Hawkins, I also really loved the area. Looking at every factor and doing my research, I knew it was the right place to attend. I trusted my gut." 
 
Upon her arrival at TMCC in the fall, Avena plans on achieving her Associates Degree in Health Science and Kinesiology. The high school senior and three-sport athlete currently maintains a 3.65 GPA while remaining active with community service and athletics.
