The Lizards put up another shutout victory over the Spartans, having yet to give up a goal this season. The Lizards have outscored their opponents 41-0 in their first four games of the regular season.
It didn't take long for the Lizards to light up the scoreboard first. In the first five minutes of the match, Yanitzia Perez Galvan and Lizeth Garcia Juarez each added a goal to put the Lizards up 2-0. The rest of the goals started to pile up from Daisy De La Torre Jimenez, Emily Mendoza Obeso, Lizbeth Gonzalez Chavez, Yalison Espinosa, Shelby Shaffer, Lesly Lopez Lugo and Andrea Villalvazo to lead 9-0 at the half. The Lizards pumped the brakes at the half but still were able to put up a few more goals, including Grace Lenfestey and Clareece Montero's first goal of the season.
A majority of the Lizard's twenty shot attempts came in the first half, barely allowing the Spartans defense time to breathe. TMCC won the corner battles, kicking in 3 times in the duration of the match, while the Spartans had zero corner attempts.
Alyson Hilke and Kaitlyn Mendoza had a pretty mellow day keeping goal as CNCC did not have a single shot attempt all game.
The Lizards will back on the home field this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. to take on the Eagles out of Utah State University-Eastern (5-0) for a battle of the unbeaten.
Coach's Corner: "Just an awesome all around team effort from them again. We're getting goals from all sorts of players so as long as they continue to do that, teams won't know who mark when scouting us."
